The bloody do-gooders in New Braunfels continue to do everything they can to keep drunks coming to their town and spending a lot of
money in their town.
Tubers who enjoy an exhilarating ride in the back of an outfitter's pickup to reach the Guadalupe or Comal River may be disappointed this year. The open-air rides won't be allowed.
The ban on using truck beds to shuttle tubers is just one of several new rules the New Braunfels City Council recently approved to improve regulation of river outfitters and keep tubers safe.
Yeah, because floating down a river drunk off your ass is OK, but riding in the back of a pickup is dangerous.
Each year, New Braunfels, a city of 53,000, plays host to about 1.5 million visitors to Schlitterbahn Waterpark Resort and the two rivers, said Judy Young, director of the New Braunfels Convention and Visitors Bureau. River tourism alone has an estimated impact of $22.5 million per year, she said.
So come here, have a good, time, don't have
too good a time, spend some money and leave. Thank you, come again.
Previous lunacy from the
killjoys in New Braunfels.

Looks like it's a done deal in New Braunfels, or as I like to
call it,
Nazi Germany! The New Braunfels City Council gave final approval to rules limiting the size of coolers on the Guadalupe and Comal rivers and banning alcohol at several riverfront parks.
After listening to dozens of residents Monday night, mostly in opposition to the rules, the council voted 4-3 to limit tubers on the Comal to one six-pack-size cooler each and those on the Guadalupe to a 12-pack-size cooler.
The council also voted to restrict open containers from three riverfront parks and the last public tuber exit on the Comal.
So you can't get drunk on the river anymore. What a sad day for the State of Texas. Next thing ya know you can't ride a mechanical bull at
Billy Bob's. Why not just outlaw an overheating car on US 83 between Menard and Eden in July? It would probably be more effective.

I remember the day when you could tube down the river, drunk off your ass, and happily enjoy your sunburn. That was before New Braunfels was taken over by
Nazis.A slate of new ordinances poised for City Council approval are meant to rein in rowdy tubers on the Comal and Guadalupe rivers before the summer tubing season arrives, city leaders said.
The City Council planned to consider rules today to curb alcohol use by banning open alcohol containers at several riverfront parks and by limiting the size of coolers on the rivers to those that hold only a six-pack.
What?!? Tube the river with
only a six-pack? If I'm going to be sitting in water for three hours, it's my god given right to drink my weight in cheep, domestic beer. Six-pack? Shit, why don't I just stay at home and sit in the tub?
